It was a great trip!  Having never been to this fabulous, democratic city, I was in awe of the buildings, artifacts, displays, music and city life! 

My greatest AHA was going to The Catholic University of America with an incoming college freshman and hearing wonderful statements about libraries and books from the architecture professors there.  Then–I visited the library which was inviting, cool (as in air-conditioned), well-organized and already filling with students doing research!  And school hadn’t started officially yet!!!  Oh that college scene is exciting and filled with great expectations!

End of the week

The University of Alaska offered a course for school librarians in the state of Alaska.  The School Librarians’ Leadership Academy:  Technology, Techniques, and Text was completed today.  Guest speaker Alice Yucht from New Jersey offered many intriguing ideas on blogging.  I have now created my blog and will hope for suggestions from my peers.
